Lewis Events was recently invited to participate in the City of Pasadena’s 138th birthday celebration held at the Pasadena Museum of History. The special occasion was hosted in conjunction with their new exhibition entitled, “LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Hollywood Magic in Pasadena“, “which highlights the city’s intrinsic role in the multidimensional world of filmmaking”. Guests were welcomed with a movie premier grand entrance and snapped pictures in a movie-making photo vignette.
Key areas of the museum property featured iconic scenes from popular blockbuster films accompanied by costumed characters. A replica, “Back to the Future” time machine Delorean was also spotlighted.
The FĂ©nyes Mansion served as a beautiful background for the theater-style snack bar, DJ, and featured entertainment. Each hour dances from popular films were performed and taught to the willing audience. Dances included Hand Jive, Thriller, Wednesday Adams, Footloose, and the entire YMCA routine.
Christy served as MC for the formal portion of the program and led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday Pasadena”, with Pasadena’s Mayor Victor M. Gordo performing the honorary cake cutting.
Pasadena locations have been featured in films including Father of the Bride, The Sting, La La Land, and Back to the Future. We enjoyed bringing the silver screen alive for Pasadena and hope for another amazing 138 years!
